“The Palette Paintings”
Often I ask myself how I can make use of nearly everything involved in making my art. This has led in various directions, including my sub-series, “Afterlife of Garbage,” which is part of the Jungian shadow-inspired series, “Inner/Outer.” It has also enticed me to do this loosely-linked ongoing series. One day, after mixing up many subtly different hues and painting in oil until late afternoon, I looked at my palette and realized it was stunning. What to do? Eventually, I took several photographs, which were also quite astonishing. In subsequent days I kept taking photographs. I also started “painting” on the palette and taking more photographs. I experimented with different lenses and especially liked the micro one. This work continues, on and on.
